Uniswap Labs has made a groundbreaking announcement with the launch of what they are calling “the largest bug bounty in history” in anticipation of the release of Uniswap v4.

The bounty program, already in progress, offers rewards ranging from $2,000 to the impressive total of $15.5 million for the identification of unique vulnerabilities that lead to code modifications.

To qualify for the highest rewards, participants must uncover critical flaws or exploits within the Uniswap v4 core contracts code, as outlined in the program guidelines.

This initiative by Uniswap Labs has generated significant buzz within the cybersecurity community. While it remains uncertain if this is indeed the most substantial bug bounty program to date, past bounties from platforms like Immunefi and tech giants Google and Microsoft have set the bar high.

Uniswap Labs is determined to ensure the utmost security for the upcoming v4 release. The previous security competition for v4 saw over 500 researchers participating, with no critical vulnerabilities identified. This $15.5 million bounty program is viewed as an additional layer of security measures to safeguard the integrity of v4.

Participants who uncover unique vulnerabilities in the Uniswap v4 core contracts code that result in code changes are eligible for the maximum payout of $15.5 million. The program outlines varying payouts based on the severity of vulnerabilities discovered, ranging from critical to low-risk categories.

In addition to the core contracts code, the bug bounty program extends to vulnerabilities found in other contracts, websites, back ends, and Uniswap v4 wallet codes.
