Donald Trump’s limited-edition orange Bitcoin-themed sneakers have created a frenzy on eBay, with resellers looking to cash in on the hype by listing them for up to $2,500.

As of now, there are a dozen listings on eBay for these sought-after high-tops, ranging from starting bids as low as $700 to “or best offer” options soaring to $2,500. One bold seller even set a price of $69,999, showcasing the demand for these exclusive kicks.

While the promises made by sellers to ship the sneakers once received seem reassuring, there are concerns about the legitimacy of some listings, with a few buyers labeling them as potential scams in the feedback section.

The orange high-top sneakers, limited to a run of 1,000 pairs, sold out within three hours of their launch on the official Trump Sneakers website on July 31. Lucky buyers had a 1 in 200 chance of snagging a signed pair, as five pairs were randomly autographed by Trump himself.

Two more variations of the Bitcoin-themed sneakers, the orange low-tops, and black hi-tops, are still available for pre-order on the Trump Sneakers website at $299 each, with a limited quantity set to be autographed.

This move towards creating a range of crypto-themed merchandise reflects Trump’s recent endorsement of Bitcoin and other digital assets, marking a significant shift from his earlier skepticism towards cryptocurrencies.

In a bid to cement his pro-crypto stance, Trump recently promised to establish a “strategic national Bitcoin stockpile” if reelected, ensuring that the US government would hold onto the $12 billion in confiscated Bitcoin without selling it off.

With the rush for Trump’s Bitcoin sneakers mirroring the growing interest in crypto-related products, it’s clear that the intersection of fashion and cryptocurrency has struck a chord with consumers looking to make a bold statement.
