In a recent exclusive interview with Cointelegraph, Mark Yusko, the mastermind behind Morgan Creek Capital, offered his unique insights into the world of cryptocurrency and shared his predictions for the year 2025.
Despite the buzz surrounding a potential Bitcoin Strategic Reserve in the United States, Yusko remains a staunch believer in Bitcoin’s traditional four-year cycle. He foresees Bitcoin’s value hitting a peak of $100,000 before embarking on a parabolic surge that could potentially catapult it to $120,000 to $150,000 by the middle of 2025.
Yusko commented, “To me, fair value is right around that six-digit level. I figured we would blow through that six-digit number, and then humans would human.” However, he issued a cautionary note, warning of an impending bear market that could set in by the end of the year, stating, “We have another bear market starting mid-year 2025.”
Expressing skepticism towards the long-term dominance of Ether (ETH), Yusko questioned Ethereum’s viability in the face of emerging alternatives such as Solana and Avalanche. Despite the milestone of spot Ether exchange-traded funds receiving approval in 2024, Yusko posed a thought-provoking question, “If Ethereum didn’t exist and was invented today, would anybody use it?” He argued that Ethereum’s current dominance might not be sustainable against more efficient technological solutions.
