ZKsync has set ambitious targets for the future, looking to achieve over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) and reduce transaction fees to as low as $0.0001 by 2025.

As a layer-2 (L2) scaling solution utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs), ZKsync aims to enhance the scalability, security, and privacy of the Ethereum mainnet.

In a recent blog post on December 12, ZKsync shared its roadmap for 2025, highlighting plans to enhance the Elastic Network and ZK Stack. These improvements aim to establish ZKsync’s technology as the go-to choice for blockchain developers.

With the goal of reaching 10,000 TPS and offering $0.0001 median transaction fees for Ethereum-native ERC-20 tokens, ZKsync aims to make its platform more attractive for builders and investors alike.

The core mission of ZKsync is to empower individual freedom in the crypto space and drive mainstream adoption of digital assets.

Privacy plays a crucial role in the adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) by institutional players. According to Remi Gai, founder of Inco, confidential computing technologies can pave the way for increased institutional participation and liquidity in the crypto market.

By leveraging technologies like fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) solutions, institutions can perform computations on encrypted data without compromising security. This could potentially unlock trillions of dollars in capital for the crypto market in the near future.

The interest in privacy-preserving technologies such as ZK-proofs has been on the rise, especially following recent regulatory developments affecting privacy-focused protocols like Tornado Cash.

In a legal victory on November 26, a Fifth Circuit Appeals Court ruled in favor of Tornado Cash’s immutable smart contracts, highlighting the importance of privacy and security in the crypto space.
