A recent investigation by blockchain expert ZachXBT has revealed shocking details regarding a former professional Fortnite player from Australia allegedly involved in memecoin scams resulting in a massive $3.5 million theft.
According to ZachXBT’s findings published on Nov. 27, ex-pro Fortnite player Serpent, known for both his gaming skills and cybersecurity expertise, was linked to various Pump.fun memecoin scams through wallet addresses with significant exposure to hacked social media accounts.
Serpent, previously ousted from the esports scene for cheating allegations, was identified by ZachXBT as the mastermind behind the “ERROR” project, suspected to be a rug pull scam. This project was directly tied to multiple account takeovers, affecting prominent figures like McDonald’s, Usher, and others.
Furthermore, evidence surfaced suggesting that Serpent was squandering the ill-gotten gains at online casinos, with recordings showcasing transactions linking back to the compromised accounts. As the investigation unfolded, Serpent hastily erased all traces of his online presence, raising suspicions of guilt.
Despite claiming to be a cybersecurity analyst and advocating for online safety in the crypto community, Serpent’s alleged involvement in these scams has put his credibility into question. His past work on threat mitigation systems like Sentinel now seems ironic in light of these accusations.
